Windows 10: Cancled download of 10 via Win7 Pro windows update - now what ?

It appeared Win 10 was not only downloading but set to install over my current Win 7 Pro machine

When Win10 is downloaded via updates in Win 7 Pro...will it automatically install or do I have the option to postpone the install after Windows update downloads the 10 installer ?

I am going to change a lot of hardware and don't want Win 10 installed until all new (MB, Memory...etc) hardware is in the box ? Will the full Win 10 update files(s) just sit patiently on my Win 7 machine until I'm done with the hardware changes ?

I'm now at 35%, hope it goes well... I tried the Windows update, several times, but it just failed (I'm running win7 pro). Now I'm downloading via this link you shared, and this means, that it is also a "free upgrade" no mather we havent used the Windows
Update Option?

Won't complete installation of latest Windows 10 update

1. Upgraded from win7 to Win10

2,3,4 cannot recall but if they came with my computer I would have removed them (they are not on now)

5. It is being installed via Windows Update

6. Windows 10 Pro -- Version 1511 -- Build 10586.589

 

You will be asked when you want to do the upgrade to Win 10.

Thanks...any problem with just 'hiding' the upgrade..? Does this look like the full Win 10 upgrade package attached based on file size ??

 

I don't know, sorry. Try it and see if that resolves the issue. From Kyhi's post you need to delete some files and folders as well.
