Windows 10: Cannon MX310 Printer

I, like a lot of other people that purchased a Cannon MX 310 printer could not get it to scan. Printer worked fine but scanning was not happening. From what I read on the Cannon website, it was a regular problem.

Now I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to computers. I just wanted a basic printer that printed documents and scanned. I'm guessing there's quite a lot like me.

Well guess what!! I got the rotten thing working. Not bad for a dumb old Aussie. Here's what I did.

Step 1. I removed the printer from the settings.

Step 2. I then reloaded the Windows CD-1 M 1.0 and let it do it's thing. I thought I had solved the problem but the mongrel thing still wouldn't perform.

Step 3. I took a look at the Windows CD-2 M 1.1 which was marked Macintosh. I thought it was a special disc for Scottish people. Previously, I hadn't loaded this disc as I honestly thought Macintosh wasn't suited to my computer. I decided to load it and let it go through it's motions and PRESTO!!, my printer now scans and I'm a happy camper.

Important Tip:

When I ran disc 2, the computer said it had to restart and I thought that was it and removed the disc. Don't do that Peeps. It would appear it only loaded 50%, I'ts got to run to 100%.

If you end up with Presto Page Manager and MP Navigator on your desktop, you should be as sweet as a nut.

All I have to do now when I want to scan is double click MP Navigator on the home screen and it works like a gem. Only thing I noticed was you had to have the document face down on the glass for it to scan. The feeder on the top still doesn't want to play so mutiple pages are not going to happen, at least not for me. I don't give a rats, I generally only scan 1 page docs and I'm not about to go playing with it and ruin a beautiful relationship with my printer that now scans.

I hope I've solved a problem for the masses. This printer owes me it's life. I was about to get the sledgehammer from the shed and send it to the grave.

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your cannon printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your cannon Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for cannon Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.

 

Cannon printer

My Cannon printer will not let the paper go through. Any suggestions?? Help The motor is fine and printer is in working order except this sudden problem.

Canon Pixma MX310 scan function will not work with Window 10 upgrade.

Tried the windows fax and scan for the MX310 and it did not show up. I also tried VueScan download which says that it supports this Cannon printer/scanner but it also doesn't show up. Any other suggestions?
