Windows 10: Cannot acces start or settings on W.10. Lost advice from Zadee c.

My windows 10: account is corrupted. My wife’s is not but she is not an administrator.. with help from Zadee C I tried to do a download and reinstall,of Windows 1O. That failed and is why I know about the corruption. . Zadee then provided detailed advice explaining how I could do a clean reinstall of Windows 10. I have managed to save all my files and my wife’s to one drive. The initials problem was that I could not access start and then settings. I have managed to lose Zadee’s andvice May he or someone else help please.William

If you are hoping to find the Windows 10 clean install instruction, I have it attached below.

To perform a clean installation of Windows 10 using the Windows Media Creation Tool:

The following steps should be done on a working Windows computer:

Download the Windows Media Creation Tool from Microsoft's official website. https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

Run the tool and select "Create installation media for another PC."

Choose your language, edition, and architecture (32 or 64-bit) and select "Next."

Choose "USB flash drive" as the media to use for the installation and select "Next."

Connect a USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space to your computer.

Select the USB flash drive you want to use, and then select "Next."

The tool will then download the required files and create the installation media.

Now these steps will be done on your problematic computer:

Go to the computer's BIOS boot menu to have it boot from the USB drive.

Follow the on-screen instructions to install Windows 10, making sure to choose "Custom install" and select the option to delete all existing partitions.

Once the installation is complete, you'll have a clean installation of Windows 10 on your computer.

 

LOST WINDOWS 10 START MENU

After trying all suggested fixes, I finally was forced to use Windows Recovery under Settings to reload the full system. I lost all non-Microsoft applications but recovered the start menu. Though this was a painful, no other suggestions worked.

Windows created an HTML file listing all programs that was deleted and that was very helpful for reinstalling mt lost programs.

Thanks to everyone for their effort, perhaps Microsoft will discover the root cause of so many who are losing the Start menu and can prevent it in the future.
