    Cannot access any files on Windows 10. File Explorer is not working at all.


    I've recently run into a problem where I am unable to access any files on my computer. Whether it be:

    • Uploading a file onto a browser -> Browser freezes then crashes
    • Opening File Explorer -> Opens, then proceeds to show "Not Responding" message
    • Clicking "Show file location" -> Computer freezes, main Windows 10 UI seems to reset

    I have tried restarting File Explorer numerous ways, I've shut down my computer and restarted it several times, I don't know what to do. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    File Explorer/Quick Access

    I recently started having a problem with File Explorer and Quick Access. When I start my computer, all works fine but then gradually the files as listed in File Explorer and Quick Access start to disappear and soon there are none present. I need to
    restart and again they are there but also again they start to disappear. Has anyone else had this problem and any suggestion to correct? Thanks/

    Some files listed in Windows Explorer are blue font

    I seem to have run out of room on a Windows XP Pro system. I tried to defrag but don't have but 7% room available. I looked in Windows Explorer to try to find some huge files that might be corrupt and I see a few that are listed in blue. What does that mean? I have not compressed anything on purpose. Thanks
