Windows 10: Cannot access BIOS, all I get is a black screen.

I have been attempting to enable Secure Boot after it was disabled I don't know how or why, one day it just disabled, not allowing me to access a couple applications that require it to be enabled. I used to be able to access it, but I did the shutdown which brings it back to options upon restart, forgot about it, pressed "Delete" as I normally would to bring up BIOS, and since then, have not been able to bring up BIOS either with "Delete" or the options menu. I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?
