Windows 10: Cannot access BIOS screen using Windows 10 UEFI firmware restart

I have a Lenovo Ideacentre 720 running Windows 10 Pro. The monitor is VGA-connected. I have been trying to access BIOS screen using the Windows 10 procedure that involves alternative restart options and clicking on the UEFI firmware option, then "restart." Every time I do so, instead of the BIOS screen appearing, the monitor goes to sleep. I have also tried accessing the BIOS screen during the restart process by pressing the various function keys Lenovo directs the user to employ in order to access BIOS. the same thing happens, the monitor goes to sleep. I am trying to access BIOS to enable wake-on-LAN settings. Any thoughts/ suggestions re: the issue would be appreciated, thanks.

Accessing BIOS (UEFI Firmware Settings)

Frequently, PC users have difficulty entering BIOS on a fast boot computer using OEM instructions, e.g., esc + f10.

In Windows 10 one method of accessing the BIOS is from the Settings menu of Start as follows:



Settings > Update and Recovery > Recovery > Advanced start-up > Restart Now > Troubleshoot >
Advanced Options > UEFI Firmware Settings

When I try to access my UEFI on a Windows 10

1. Navigate to settings. ...
2. Select Update & security.
3. Select Recovery from the left menu.
4. Click Restart Now under Advanced startup. ...
5. Click Troubleshoot.
6. Click Advanced options.
7. Select UEFI Firmware Settings.
8. Click Restart.

The screen goes blank and stays blank for ever, I have to reboot to start windows.
I updated my UEFI/BIOS after upgrading my OS from 8.1 to Win10 I found out later I should have updated the UEFI/BIOS
first then Win10, I have to access the UEFI/BIOS to change the boot sequence to access my USB WD hard drive BACKUP AND RECOVERY Win10

UEFI: American Megatrends Inc. P11-A3 07/16/2015 This is the latest UEFI/BIOS I upgraded to.
I want to reinstall windows 10 and hope this will cure the problem?

access BIOS settings in Win 10

I have an 8-year old computer running Win 10. I need to access the BIOS settings. It used to be the holding down the F2 key during startup would bring up the BIOS screen in Windows computers. But this no longer works. A web article listed a complicated
series of steps leading to a reboot . . . but still no access to BIOS. Any suggestions?
