Cannot access cmd on Lenovo laptop, network issues...suddenly using windows 10

I suddenly lost my ability to connect to my wifi. Both my phone and pc.

I managed to get my Sony Vaio desktop with Win10 connected though I have to run network diagnostics after I wake the thing up, since all this went south 2 weeks ago (even with the new wifi router). It's a chore and takes me several tries but, I can run DNS issues as an Administrator with this PC, the laptop, nope.

I've tried resetting network on my laptop, no use

I've tried entering my ip and dns (I lost count), no use

(right clicked on Start, must enter "run") I cannot enter in "cmd", "command prompt" or "C:\Windows\cmd.exe" "C:\Windows\regedit.exe"

Both are forbidden for security reasons. It reads "For security and performance, this mode of Windows only runs verified apps from the Store" It than asks if I still want to run an unverified app, see how yet, I can't visit the Store to find said app npr even what the name of it would be, because I can no longer get online.

I even bought a new wifi router - same thing, no connection

I get this when I run Windows Network Troubleshooter, even though I didn't touch a thing "DNS server isn't responding"

More information reads (all in the same pop up window):

"The XML page cannot be displayed"

"Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later."

"Security settings do not allow the execution of the script code within the style sheet"

I can't fix the problem because I can't access CMD...based on fixes I have read on bulletin board forums

In other words, all the fixes I have found on said bulletin boards, youtube...won't work because I can't get into my commend prompt.

I keep seeing something about Windows 10 update knocking people offline and no longer being able to access their wifi.

    I'm basically chasing my tail.

    What happened?

    :)

  2. Lenovo laptop suddenly slow

I have a new Lenovo E580 laptop (bought January 2019) which suddenly started to run very slow. I have especially noticed it with build times in Visual Studio and loading times for a local website in IIS.

I have tried to reinstall Windows 10 Pro by formatting the entire computer but it’s still slow.

    Laptop spec:

    • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    • CPU: i7-8550U 2.00GHz
    • 16 GB RAM
    • 512 SSD

Software where I really notice the slowness:

    • Visual Studio Community 2019 Version 16.3.9
    • IIS to Windows 10

I have tried to setup an older laptop with the same software installed as the new laptop, to compare the loading times. The old laptop has a very similar spec. (i7-4700MQ 2.40GHz, 16GB RAM, 256 SSD). The load time for a local website on the new laptop is 78 seconds where on the old is 30 seconds. On the new laptop it used to be around 30 seconds as well.

It’s not just Visual Studio and IIS that is slow it’s the entire laptop. I thought it would be fixed by reinstalling Windows but there were no improvements. I suspect it’s a hardware issue, but I don’t get any errors, and everything looks fine.

Does anyone have suggestions to what I can try to pinpoint this issue or is it better to contact Lenovo support, as the new laptop is still under warranty?

windows 10 loosing local network access

    Hi,

Well, frequently, I'm unable to access folders on my laptop (or desktop from laptop).
Then I run network troubleshooting and windows says me the same thing again: one or more network protocols are not installed and necessary for connectivity. Then I accept the correction and I can access my network until the next time it will fail and will say me the same thing. One day, perhaps 3 if I am lucky.
IT'S MASSIVELY BORING !! *Smile Cannot access cmd on Lenovo laptop, network issues...suddenly using windows 10 :)

    Any clue ?

Issues while accessing PC over the network

    Hi Cliff,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues while accessing the PC’s over the network. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

    1. Have you connected both the laptops to the same network through which the PC is connected?
    2. Which build version of Windows is installed on the PC’s?

    Refer the article
Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try connecting the PC to the main router and see if you are able to access the laptops.

If you are able to access the laptops, then we need to configure the network settings once again. You can refer the suggestions by
