    Cannot access Prefetch folder any longer - strange


    Hi all -

    I am the (local) Admin of my system, yet I cannot access my Prefetch folder any longer in W10 Pro.
    No errors, except that Properties indicate it as an empty folder.
    A mouse click does nothing.

    When I login to my true Admin account, it is fully accessible and populated.

    Any idea why and how to correct?

    Check out the registry prefetch settings
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

    This is what mine looks like

    The 3 is the default setting for fully caching what prefetch does.
    --- Unfortunately I lost the link that provided that information.
    --- That source also mention to ensure SuperFetch is also set to 3

    These are my notes from the link I had found
    0: Disable SuperFetch
    1: Cache applications only
    2: Cache boot files only
    3: Cache everything (default)

    Very strange...

    I just went to check on my Prefetch folder as a regular local Admin and now it works fine.

    I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the reply.
