  1. Cannot access User Profile in Windows 10

I have been suffering from a problem for like eons and unfortunately, the microsoft team was not able to help at all. Ever since the upgrade of windows 10 to build 1803, there has been a problem where I cannot access my User Profile folder. Normally you don't notice it becuase the folder can be opened and all in normal way but the glitch starts when you try to save something in it. Say for example when you are working on a document and want to save it and your try saving it to either desktop or documents, it says "cannot access the destination folder" and you say what the hell?

Then you try copy/paste something onto desktop, create folders and all gives you same crap. The real PIA is when you try to import photos from a photo device which by default goes to Picture folder and it says "No sir, you cannot do that and I am not telling you why you can't do it either"

I was real fed up by this nonsense, I tried contacting microsoft team like a million times, they take remote control of my PC and try figure out the things. Almost everyone deleted my user profile and made me create a new one. Well the problem goes away untill I logout and login again. A few geniouses even asked me to upgrade my windows so I upgraded from Home to Pro for 100$ (crap waste of money in my opinion) but the problem didn't go away.

Quite luckily, I came across the solution in an attempt to do something else. I was trying to block the Windows Defender from scanning a certain folder and I notice something there. its called "Controlled Folder Access". I dig into it and there I saw the solution of my problem that had been bugging me for one damn year and whcih Microsoft could not help me find. you just have to flip the switch to OFF and its all good. Looks like Microsoft has added an extra layer of security for the progams from accessing your profile folder and creating copies and documents onto it (i don't know why i mean seriously). But the solution was simple, right in front of their eyes and they could not help me find it.

So I am making this post for all other who are suffering from this problem. One thing for sure guys, never take Microsoft Team Technicians for their words, try to further investigate the issue on your own and NEVER spend money on anything they recommend to you unless you are absolutely positive that there is no alternative.

I am attaching the screenshot for you guys so you have no problem finding the solution.

  2. Ahhzz Win User

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
