Windows 10: Cannot add printer to Windows 11

I am trying to install HP Envy 7100 printer to my HP Laptop. Used to work, now printer & laptop not communicating. I have put through all steps, have WPS PIN, Serial #. now have printer connected with cable, laptop still not connecting to printer.

To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps:
CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install

What and all steps have you tried so far?

Restart the computer and check.

Also, check for Windows updates.

I suggest you to run the Printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

  Click on Hardware and Sound.

  Then click on Printer to run the troubleshooter. Follow onscreen steps.

• Press Windows/Start key.
• Type Devices and Printers and then tap or click Devices and Printers.
• Press and hold or right-click the printer you want to use, and then tap or click
  Set as default printer.
