Windows 10: Cannot at Visual Studio projects .git? to Windows Search index - why?

I'm not able to add my Visual Studio 2019 projects to Windows Search:Whenever I check these folders and click [OK], they are not getting included to the index.What's keeping these folders from being added to Windows Search?I'm running Windows 10x64, 21H1

Visual Studio Modeling SDK is now available with Visual Studio 2017

You might want to use the Visual Studio Modeling SDK if you have one of these requirements:

Create Graphical or Form-Based modeling designers. For these, you can use the DSL Tools

Enable transformation of T4 templates part of the build. For these you can use the T4 SDK

Bulk-index assemblies in the Code Index underlying Code Map. For this you can use the Code Index SDK (embedded in the Modeling SDK)

The Modeling SDK changed its name several times during the last ten years: starting from the ‘DSL Tools’ in 2007, it grew to become ‘Visualization and Modeling SDK’ (VSVm SDK) in 2010. At that time, the SDK also contained UML extensibility. Finally, the name was a bit long and therefore it was shorted to ‘Modeling SDK’ in 2012. With previous versions of Visual Studio, regardless of its name, we used to release the Modeling SDK as a separate download.

We are pleased to announce that, from this Visual Studio 2017 RC update, the Visual Studio Modeling SDK will be released as part of Visual Studio itself (in all editions of Visual Studio).

How to install the components of the Modeling SDK?

Previously, the DSL Tools, T4 SDK and Code Index SDK were all shipped as part of the Modeling SDK.

In VS2017, the T4 SDK is installed with the T4 runtime as part of the Text Template Transformation optional component, which is itself installed by default with many Visual Studio workloads

The DSL Tools and Code Index SDK are installed as part of the DSL tools optional component (the component will be renamed to the Modeling SDK in a future Visual Studio RC update, as this is the name under which you have known it for several years). you can find this component in the Visual Studio Extension development workload in every edition of Visual Studio.

Known issues

For the next update of Visual Studio 2017 RC we are slightly improving the experience:

When you use the “Add New Project …” dialog, the DSL Tools project template is currently located under “Other Project Types | Extensibility”. And now, it’s the only one in this category. We are moving it to be under “C# | Extensibility” with the other Visual Studio SDK content, where it makes more sense.

The DSLProjectMigrationTool, (which transforms a DSL Tools solution created for previous versions of Visual Studio, to Visual Studio 2017) will also be added to the release.

DSL Tools are described in detail in the MSDN Library (Modeling SDK for Visual Studio – Domain-Specific Languages). One change is you won’t need to install the Modeling SDK any longer. The DSL Tools Lab is a good resource for beginners.

T4 MSBuild is also described in the MSDN Library (Code Generation in a Build Process - Visual Studio (Windows) | Microsoft Docs). Again, you can skip the first step as you won’t need to install the Modeling SDK any longer.

New Visual Studio Project UWP

I have Windows 10 Pro and Visual Studio Enerprise 2015.

In Visual Studio, I am having problems creating c# UWP projects.

When Solution Explorer loads all Design views are inoperable and have the following message:

Visual Studio requires a newer version of Windows to display this content.

Please update to Windows 10 (10.0.10586.0) or later.

Windows 10 Pro should satisfy that.

Any suggestions?

Microsoft Released Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 CTP

Today we released Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 CTP. Our focus for this release has been stability and performance, along with responding to feedback you’ve given us on Visual Studio 2015 RTM and Update 1.

Here are the biggest things you’ll find in this update:

Fixes for quite a number of bugs:

Crashes when editing C# or Visual Basic files while editing

Crashes when updating error list entries for C# and Visual Basic projects while editing

Out of memory exceptions when C# and Visual Basic projects are kept open for long sessions

Delays when opening C++ projects

Over 300 C++ compiler bugs (some address code-generation issues and required breaking changes; see Breaking Changes in Visual C++ 2015 Update 2)

Errors when creating document-level projects for Office 2016 with the Office Developer Tools

Hangs when trying to access local help

Setup fixes:

Hangs in setup when using read-only or disconnected drives

Failures with uninstallable packages and when selecting features

C# and Visual Basic Analyzer API improvements for better performance and control over whether analyzers run in generated code.

In Visual Studio 2015 Update 1, we introduced a faster database engine for C and C++ that speeds up operations like Go To Definition and Find All References but turned it off by default. With Update 2, new Visual Studio installations use this new engine by default; if you’re upgrading from Update 1 to Update 2, note that you’ll continue to use whatever engine you already had selected. In any case, you can select the engine via Tools > Options > Text Editor > C/C++ > Experimental.

We’ve also added a number of features across a variety of languages and tools that you can read about in the release notes. There are two that I’d like to call our here:

Visual Studio is now compatible with Git repos configured to use Git LFS (Large File Storage). Learn more about Git LFS here: Git Large File Storage.

Seeding the C# Interactive Windowwith a project context, and the addition of Send To Interactive commands.
