Discus and support Cannot attach Word doc to gmail or upload to Google Drive in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; Neither can I upload documents to Google Drive, so pretty sure it's an File Explorer issue.     Cannot attach Word doc to gmail or upload to Google Drive


    Neither can I upload documents to Google Drive, so pretty sure it's an File Explorer issue. I can attach PDFs and other file types.I have an HP laptop running Windows 10.I already tried the following:Opened Gmail in a different browser both Chromoe and Firefoxfollowed all the suggestions listed here, including "clean boot" which is scary, because MS Support instructed to disable all startup programs incuding Windows Defender, and I'm not sure how to get any of these back to enabled on startup: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/cant-attach-word-doc-to-gmail-in-windows

    Kindly verify the following for me to identify the appropriate steps that can resolve your concern:

    • Have you made any recent changes prior to this issue?
    • Are you getting any error messages or error codes? If so, a screenshot of it is highly appreciated.
    • Have you tried using another browser to attach the Word document to your Gmail? If so, are you experiencing the same issue?
    • Are you experiencing any issue opening the Word file itself?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve your concern?

    In the meantime, I’d recommend clearing the cache and cookies of Google Chrome and check if the issue persists.

    Cannot attach Word doc to gmail or upload to Google Drive

    can't attach word doc to gmail in Windows 10.

    I'm unable to attach a Word doc to gmail in Windows 10. Never happened in Windows 7. File explorer doesn't respond, freezes and then Chrome crashes when I try to close Explorer. Is there a workaround or fix for this? Don't send attachments very frequently,
    but think I have been able to do so in Windows 10 on another occasion.
