Windows 10: Cannot backup files because Wind 10 cannot find previous back ups

Good morning,My last Windows 10 back to an external hard drive was accidentally deleted and not only can't I recover it, I do not even remember the folder's name. I have tried numerous times to make a newer backup to the same drive and a different new one, but each time the system stops after a few minutes showing "last backup did not complete successfully" A shadow copy could not be created, and to view the Event Logs for "VSS" and "SPP". I use the computer mainly for personal work and part-time business and a backup of my files is essential.Any help in resolving this problem would be most a

I was going by other advice and articles that suggest that backing up under Update and security/backup is now the way to go. I will try your suggestion.

Changing Destination Drive for Backup in Windows 10

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if this helps:

• Press Windows key.
• Type in Backup and Restore.
• Under Backup or restore your files select set up backup.
• Once the set up starts you'll get an option to choose the destination drive.
• And then follow the onscreen instructions.
