Windows 10: Cannot change default app for .SVG file only

In Windows 11, I cannot change the default app for .SVG file BUT can change the default app for any other file type using any of: "right click file > Open With", or "Settings > Apps > Default Apps" or "File Properties using CHANGE button". BUT for .SVG file: Open With only shows "Just Once" so there is no "Always" button likeis normally seen File Properties does not have "CHANGE" button Default Apps shows nothing meaning I type .svg in textbox at top, no default app shows just blank area so no way to change defaultAgain this only happens for SVG .SVG meaning I can easily change

Changing default program for svg files

How do you change the default program for svg files to Adobe Illustrator when it is not available as one of the options in the default programs menu?

 

Using Paint.net with SVG Files

Select the SVG file thats now associated with IE.

Right click it

Click Properties

Click the General tab

Click Change

Scroll through the list

Choose Paint.NET

Click OK

Click Apply then OK

Paint.NET or any other graphics program you choose that can open SVG files should become the default.

You have to change the default app to open svg files in Internet Explorer by default.

Go to Settings > Apps > Default apps

On the right side, scroll down and click the link Choose default apps by file type

On the next screen, scroll down to svg then click the app button and change it to Internet Explorer
