cannot change my default saving location to "this PC" under settings < storage < change...

hi Team , i have the following issue with windows 10

cannot change my default saving location to "this PC" under settings < storage < change where the new content is saved . it just lists "C drive" and not "this PC".

everything i try to save , it saves under skydrive , i will need to manually change the location to "this PC" and it takes extra few seconds.

this was all working fine , last month all my icons from the desktop disappeared and then i copied all the icons from skydrive which might have been synchronized but the icons that i copied from skydrive did not have the most recent version of the files inside them.

how can i fix this issue ?

    :)

Change Storage Save Locations in Windows 10

Thanks Brink. Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have changed those settings from OneDrive to This PC and they stay set OK. But System/Storage/Save Locations will not stay set to This PC and it is a problem because when I open Windows Explorer and expand This PC and click on Documents or Pictures those folders are still pointing to OneDrive (I know it is strange, the Documents and Pictures listed under This PC are pointing to OneDrive even though there is a separate listing for OneDrive just above This PC). I have to manually go to c:\users\username\documents and c:\users\username\pictures in Windows Explorer (and have added them to Quick Access) but when I install apps, like an old copy of Canon Zoom Browser, and open it the program is looking to OneDrive\Pictures by default. Any other idea why System/Storage/Save Locations will not save when I click Apply?

  3. Changing the default storage designation for the Microsoft Windows Store and various apps.

    Hi Isaac,

The default storage location for the Windows store and apps is in system location where Windows is stored (This PC-> C drive), if you want to change the default location of the apps then I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the settings
    and check if it helps.

    • Open Settings and click on the System icon.
    • Click on Storage on the left side, on the right side under
Save locations, select the drive to where you want your
      documents
      , music, pictures, and/or
      videos
to be saved to by default.
    • Click/tap on Apply.

The above settings option is available only from the Windows version (10586), I suggest you to check in which version of Windows build in installed on your computer.

Please get back to us with an update on this issue, we will be happy to assist you further.

    Thank you
