Windows 10: Cannot complete Windows login for one account

Since the November update loaded I have been experiencing the following: I login to my main account and as soon as I get to the point where the desktop should begin to be built with all of my app icons the screen goes blank for a second and then the normal background screen appears for a second and then the process just continues to repeat itself. I can open task manager. I can choose to login as a local user and the problem does not exist. When I try to boot into safe mode and login to my main account I get the same result, the desktop fails to load and the screen cycles on and off. When l

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to select the appropriate language in login screen at the bottom right corner and check if it helps.

Steps 2: Use On-screen keyboard in the login screen to login and check if it helps.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

  If its Microsoft account are you able to login using the web interface?
  

I suggest you to use the on-screen keyboard and try to login. Follow the steps below:

Click on the Ease of Access icon at the right bottom of the screen and select On-screen keyboard and check if issue persists.
