Cannot connect to a NAS file server. Destination Host unreachable

When sending ping packets to the IP address. I get a response from a wrong IP address. Where or whose IP address is it?I'm using a windows 10 laptop connected to wireless router 192.168.0.1This NAS server is connected to a switch connected to another router. This began to happen to my device and other workstation PCs connected to the same NAS server recently. I remedied this issue just the other day by merely restarting the switch. Any reason why this keeps happening? ; and what must I do to resolve this perennial issue?Thank you for your kind answers

    :)

What's up with "Destination host unreachable" from my own IP?

I would suggest that while your internet was dying, sometimes your machine couldn't even get the request to your router (hence your IP-Address returned in your Destination host unreacheable) and sometimes it went through the router to the endpoint, but you couldn't get any response back, hence the Request timed out.

Source: ping response "Request timed out." vs "Destination Host unreachable"

Control Panel > Show all > Credential Manager and select tab Windows Credentials.

If you can't find the tab, just let me know and I'll post a screen cap for you here!

    Here you go:

    NAS unreachable

    Hi there

Reading the Spec (although my French isn't 100% good) you need to install some sort of CLIENT on your Windows machine to access this server.

If it were me I'd ditch the OS on the NAS if possible and install a decent Linux Distro such as CENTOS / SUSE / UBUNTU / Linux MINT etc.

Then you can have something like SAMBA up and running (and it usually works straight out of the box).

However if you can't / don't want to install a new OS or change the existing one then try the following :

If you have the IP address of your NAS (on the command console even with that OS I imagine there's some comand like ifconfig which will give you the IP address. See if you can ping it from windows, and then see if you can ping TO your windows computer.

If PING works then the network part will be OK -- it's then just a matter of configuration.

As a previous poster recommends -- look for client software on the manufacturers site.

I still think using Linux is the easiest and best way of running any sort of NAS

Here I have 2 Linux servers both perfectly accessible by windows (in this case 2 computers) with ZERO problems.
