For a few months I have been trying to finish a PC with windows 7 . The hardware is not supported by windows 11 . Does not matter if it did since some of the old software I run will not work on newer windows .Intel i7-6700K on ASUS PRIME Z270-A motherboard . 1tb NVME boot drive .The newest hardware windows 7 drivers exist for . I created flash drive with NVME driver using ASUS utility . Windows 7 installs fine , no trouble until I try to go on internet ! I have a WIRED ethernet connection . The correct LAN drivers are installed from ASUS motherboard driver CD and the device shows as "OK" in

Also, check in the "Device Manager" to see if the network adapter is ok.
You may need to un-install it and then "Scan for new devices".
