Windows 10: cannot correct keyboard stopping while typing

Recently I've experience problems with my keyboard stopping typing. It feels like it just times out and stops. I have gone thru the community and have followed the suggestions without success. I've gone thru troubleshooting, updating, deleting and reinstalling drivers (all our up to date). I've worked in the device manager uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard , admin - sfc /scannow (no corrupt files). I've changed usb ports. In a final act of desperation, I've purchased a new key board but the problem still remains the same. HELP!!! Any further advice.

How to Enable correction on Keyboard

settings->keyboard

Then tap on the keyboard language you're using. You'll then get a list of settings for that keyboard that should contain options for 'Suggest text' and 'Correct misspelt words'

 

Keyboard Not Typing Correct Characters

My brother has an HP laptop (Model bs057cl) that he hasn't used in about a year. When he boots the computer he's unable to use the keyboard normally. We brought up the onscreen keyboard which, although it works, does not match the normal qwerty keyboard layout. In fact, the layout of the onscreen keyboard exactly matches the layout of the laptop's keyboard.


I am at a loss. It's probably an incredibly easy fix, but one that I'm clueless about performing.

 

After typing the first letter/number, the cursor stops flashing and nothing else will type in.

To assist you better, write back to us with the following information.

  Does the issue persists only in email and while entering the password or with other applications too?
  
• 
  Did you make any changes prior to the issue?
  
• 
  What is the make and model of your system?
  

As an initial step of troubleshooting, I suggest you to try using the on screen keyboard and check if the issue persists

Follow the steps below to open the on screen keyboard.

• Type on screen keyboard in the search bar and select
  On screen keyboard from the search items.

If you are able to type properly using the on screen keyboard then, it might be issue related to the keyboard hardware.

I suggest you to follow the below steps to run the
Hardware and Devices troubleshooter.

• 
  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and press
  Enter key.
  
• 
  In the Troubleshooting window, click on
  View all option on the left pane.
  
• 
  Click on Hardware and Devices.
  
• 
  Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
  

If the issue persists, using on screen keyboard as well, then it might be an issue related to a third-party application or might be virus issue.

I suggest you to perform a full system scan using Windows Defender and check if it helps.
