Windows 10: Cannot Create a "New Folder"/ only Allows me to Create Compressed Zipped Folder. Already...

I have a laptop running Windows:Edition Windows 10 Education Version 21H2 Installed on ‎10/‎13/‎2022 OS build 19044.2965 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0 About a week ago I can no longer create a "new folder" but instead can only create a "Compressed Zipped Folder". I tried all tips in this thread that helped others: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for.... Look for the response from Nawar Bin AbdulNazer. NOTHING IS WORKING.Can anyone please help?

Creating A Compressed (Zip) Folder

I am trying to compress an image that is 3.6Mb in size. When I create a zip file the new image is the same size-it is not being reduced. Am I doing something wrong or is there something wrong with the program.

Create a new compressed folder/zipped folder option missing in "new" label of right-click context menu on the desktop. What do I do?

 

Right-click on compressed zip folder gets error

I fairly often make zip files that upload to OneDrive thereby allowing me to create a download Share link through the right-click context menu of the compressed zip file.

For some reason, I just started getting this error, which is remarkably lacking in helpful information.





Other observations that may help deduce what's going on:

• Older zip files on the same machine DO allow a right-click without error
  
• This does not appear to be connected to OneDrive. I tried directly on C: and on a NAS. All newly created .zip files get the above error.
  
• I improved the situation somewhat by trying the procedure to copy the Default Send To feature to my User profile. Redirecting. Result: There's still the same error, but clicking OK brings up the context menu anyway and a OneDrive Share can be created. Still, it's not supposed to have an error.
  
• My desktop has the issue. I created another zip file made on my laptop in the same OneDrive folder. Once it syncs to the desktop, that zip file CAN be right-clicked on the desktop without error. The laptop is behaving without error. This says it's something in the creation of new zip files on the desktop.
  

How can I repair or replace this Send To Compressed Folder functionality?
