Windows 10: Cannot create new fax

    Cannot create new fax


    I have set up Windows Fax and Scan using fax server on Server 2012 Essentials. It's working a number of workstations, but on one workstation the computer can connect to the fax server, it cannot create a new fax. When you click on "New Fax" you get the following message: "There was an error opening this message. An error has occurred."


    The workstation that has the problem worked fine when it was running Windows 7 Pro. The problem started after it was upgraded to Windows 10. I have deleted the registry keys and turned the fax and scan program on and off, and reconnected to the fax server, but still get the error message. I am aware of the following post, but it did not fix the problem:

    creating new folder problem in windows 10 creator

    Hi Gudiya,

    The problem you've encountered in creating a folder could be caused by software or program conflict as the issue appeared a few days after installing the Windows 10 Creators update. For us to know if this only occurs when creating a new folder from the desktop,
    we suggest that you try creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut or from File Explorer. Please refer to the steps below:

    Creating a new folder using a keyboard shortcut.

    • Click on the desktop.
    • Press CTRL + SHIFT + N.
    • A new folder should be created.

    Creating a new folder from File Explorer.

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Hover your mouse on the location where you want to create a new folder.
    • Right-click it, go to New > Folder.

    In case the problem persists, then we suggest that you go ahead and perform a clean boot. Doing so will start your computer using minimal drivers to help us determine what conflict is causing the problem. Check out

    Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


    I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

    Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
    We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
    I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
    Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
    I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
    It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

    Am unable to create a new user. Accounts -> Add someone else to this PC options is not working to create a new account.

    Do not worry we will help you with this issue.

    Try few of the troubleshooting steps below and check if it helps.

    I suggest you to sign out from the current user account, restart the computer, sign-in and check with the status of this issue. As this might be a temporary issue.

    Follow the below steps to create a new user account:

    • Press Windows + X keys from the keyboard, click on
      Control Panel.
    • Select User Accounts, click on Manage another account.
    • Select Add a new user in PC settings, click on
      Add someone else to this PC       and follow onscreen instructions.
