Windows 10: Cannot create New Folder in File Explorer

    Cannot create New Folder in File Explorer


    It works fine, but suddenly today the New menu disappeared from my click menu when I click on any blank place in a folder. What's worse, if I click the New Folder button under the File Explorer top menu, there is no response. In the end, I can only create new folders using command lines but not by the usual shortcuts. Any thoughts to fix this problem? Thanks.

    New File Creation Freezes Win 10

    Just downloaded Win 10, upgraded from WIN 8. Now I cannot create a new folder in File Explorer at all. And cannot create a New Folder when using MS Word or MS Excel. So it's across the board that a New Folder cannot be created since I upgraded to WIN 10.
    Can't use the "New Folder" icon at the top left side either.....

    Basically I just noticed it's a Right Click problem too, that freezes the whole File Explorer and creates a (not responding) error.

    Help Need a Fix! Please reply with a fix.

    I want to create a new folder in File Explorer

    Right click the sub-folder, the New option on the menu has an arrow pointing right to Folder, right click and type in a name for your new folder.

    Thank you, Brink! The Windows 7 solution works on Windows 10 in my case! I only tried adding the New registration key before asking for help, but seems the tool provided in the link also added the Gadgets registration key to make the trick *Smile
