Windows 10: Cannot create new storage pool on Windows 11

Running in a power shell with Admin privileges How do I check.PS C:\Users\abc> $Pdisk = get-physicaldisk -canpool $true PS C:\Users\abc> new-storagepool -Friendlyname special -StorageSubSystemFriendlyName "Windows Storage*" -Physicaldisks $Pdisk new-storagepool : Access denied

create storage pool

I had a USB storage device that became damaged and unserviceable attached to my laptop I had a storage pool with this storage device . I deleted the storage device and did the necessary steps that i know to unattached the device from the memory. I plugged
in a new storage device and tried to create a new storage pool. I keep getting the error r unable to create because it is being used by other apps.

 

Create New Pool does not work on Storage Spaces

No matter what I try, the app "Storage Spaces" cannot create a new pool. I tried reconnecting and disconnecting my USB drives and nothing worked. Do you have any suggestions on how to RAID USB drives together as one? Thanks in advanced.

You don't show a screenshot, so I am uncertain to which part of the process of creating a storage space you are referring. I pointed you to the tutorials. I now provide you with a screenshot of part of one of them, which shows a warning which might be what you are referring to.





Your question about double storage / redundancy appears to relate to the normal operation of storage spaces once configured, so seems obscure.

My impression is that few here have used storage spaces.
