    Error when mounting ISO files

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand when you are trying to delete/rename/move the ISO files after mounting it you get an error message. It could be possible that the ISO file is mounted and that is the reason you are unable to modify it.

I suggest you to eject the ISO file and then try to modify it. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + E, to open
      File Explorer
      .
    2. Click on This PC on the left pane, you will find the mounted ISO file.
    3. Right click on the ISO file and click on Eject. Try modifying the ISO file now.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.

    Regards,

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink Cannot delete C:/Mount ;)
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

    Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
    Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
    mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

  4. Cannot delete C:/Mount

How to mount an SSD to "C:\Windows"

I have a spared 32GB mSATA SSD. It is inadequate for the whole C:\ volume. Is there anyway I can mount it to
C:\Windows for faster system boot time?

    • Scenario 1: during installation time
    • Scenario 2: after installation, when the directory already contains files
