Windows 10: Cannot disable auto-login without password in Windows 11 startup

My sis and I use two different accounts in this PC. Before updating to Windows11, we have successfully disabled auto login upon startup even without a password by setting AutoAdminLogon string to 0 in the Registry Editor. That way, we can just click on Sign In on our own accounts whenever we start the PC without typing a password since we don't have any. However, now it logs on automatically to the last used account on startup since the Windows 11 update rolled even with the AutoAdminLogon string set to 0. It's really a hassle for us since we have to log out of the person's account every tim

Windows Startup password

Is it possible to remove a startup password without being able to log into the system? A friend's laptop just prompt her today for a password that she never enabled. Now, she does have a standard user account password, but that doesn't work for the startup password. She had the computer for about a year now and it has never asked for a startup password until today.

I tried to use Hiren Boot CD to run a diagnostic on the laptop, but it has a bsod. Windows 10 normal boot crashes as well

Got it. Well that is not possible then lol You must have a password. If you have not got a password then you may as well have the device auto login.

Anyhow, I thought @CaptainFlint wanted the admin account to be the default option at startup WITH a password. I also thought CaptainFlint wanted the other three accounts to not have a password. That setup can be achieved. Or am I missing something?

This may have been caused by an unintentional change that happened on your account setup. You may try disabling the password prompt you are encountering. Please check
