Windows 10: CANNOT disable french accents no matter what I do!

I use Windows 11. I was editing a document when, lo and behold, question marks had yet again been disabled and replaced with the French accents. Same with quotation marks. Only this time, nothing I do is correcting the issue. I am desperate. I have disabled all languages except for US, I have gone to advanced settings and fiddled with the hot key settings, I have tried alt control and shift, etc. Shutting down the PC does not work either. I have uninstalled the last update. I need question mark and quotation functionality. I NEVER need French accents. Please, what am I to doÉThanks for any hel

Disable smart accents on french keyboard

I am using a french keyboard on Windows 10, and as someone that regularly formats code in markdown (using backticks, like on SE), I am trying to find a way to disable the "smart" accents feature, or whatever the name of the following feature is.

If I press Ctrl + Alt + 7 (key combination for backtick, as you can see here), the backtick will not be written yet; I have to press any key again so that it does get written (I currently press space). The purpose of this feature is to be able to apply accents to any letter, for example if press Ctrl + Alt + 7 and then u then I will get ù. I'm guessing this is useful for many people, but the french keyboard already has keys for the most useful accented letters and this behavior is very annoying.

Is there any way I could disable it, so that when I press Ctrl + Alt + 7 the backtick gets immediately written ?

Hi,

There should be a way to type french accents of the device. I think you need to hold down the fn key + Sym key. When I had my HTC 8125, I had to type the letter, then hold the fn key and press the space bar until I got the accent I wanted. I recommend you try
these key combo before purchasing the device.

Hello,

I would like to ask if it is possible to type in French in Windows Mobile - version 6.1 to be exact?

For example, on my PC, I use the English US International layout to have easy access to most characters.

Is that an option there? For example to use a combination of keys with the vowel to get it accented? or get the cedille ç?

I am planning on switching to Windows Mobile on a Touch Pro 2, but I do a lot in English, Spanish and French and it is important to know if I would have that ability.
