Windows 10: Cannot download app from Microsoft Store

I have an Acer Aspire 5560 laptop computer dating from 2011
It is running Windows 10 Home, which was upgraded to version 2004 yesterday.

Microsoft says the OS Build: 10.0.1.19041.388.

The laptop is reported as follows:
RAM: 3GB
System Type: OSType64BitX64
Processor: AMD A4-3305 APU with Radeontm HD Graphics 6480G

It is slow, but works and I use it as a dedicated Zoom/Skype comms terminal, for which it works fine.

Problem:
When I click: Settings> Update & Security> See updates installed on your device> See what's new in this update I get a bland window that reads "You'll need a new app to open this ms-get-started link". Below it is an unchecked box that reads [ ] Always use this app. Below it is a grey block marked "OK"

Nothing in that window does anything whatsoever. It just sits there.

It is stated elsewhere in this Community that the problem is simply that "Microsoft Tips" is not installed and that one should simply go to the Microsoft Store and then download and install "Tips" . When I log into Microsoft and go to the Store, track down Tips, and try to "Install it on my devices", the Store or my device does NOT offer me in the installation window the option of installing it on this particular laptop. It only shows my desktop Win10Pro machine as optional installation destination. When I click on "Get more info on your device list", it shows the Acer laptop. When I go to the Store, it does NOT show the laptop as linked to the store.

I have run sfc /scannow
I have run DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Neither has made any difference.


I have tried downloading another unrelated application from the Store. It got me as far as the cart, but I appear to be wholly unable to get anything from the Microsoft Store onto the Acer laptop. Hopefully someone somewhere has seen this before.... or I am doing something profoundly stupid.... are I just basically do not understand what either Microsoft or the laptop may be trying to tell me.

Hello again, well I followed your suggestion and did the Repair install. Guess what, I still cannot download anything from the store or check for updates.

I also followed up by doing all the things I did in my first post in this thread, religiously following the applicable instructions in the Tenforums tutorials. Grrrrrr...this is getting to be a real bear. *Confused

Cannot download Pandora app in microsoft store

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question, but I cannot get any straight answer from Microsoft. I just finished building a new PC with Windows 10 Pro. My old PC also has Windows 10 Pro. I am trying to update my new PC by installing all of the same apps that I had before. On the old PC I had installed the Pandora Internet Radio app from the Microsoft Store. This time, when I tried installing it on the new PC from the Microsoft Store, the "get the app" button is grayed out and a notice says "this app does not work on your device". Is there a special process that I must follow? I tried googling it but got nothing that would help. I can't download it from Pandora's site but can make a shortcut to the website. I know it sounds trivial. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
