Windows 10: Cannot enter OS after system32 permission is changed

The permission of System32 is changed to administrator by accident. The laptop went to blue screen. Now it cannot enter neither OS or OS safe mode. Is it any way to recovery system without loss of data? or backup data?

Changed permissions on a System32 folder, can I change it back?

Hello, I recently fixed a problem that I had with Windows Defender by reinstall the Windows Security Platform, suggestion was here by Enric Cortes > Redirecting well anyways, it required me to change permissions on the SecurityHealth folder in System32 and I did so, and it went well, but now that it is installed and fixed, I wanna change the permission back, do I juat revoke 'full control' from the 'Administrators' account?

To reset the default permissions on that folder, here are the steps . . .

Click your Start Button, then just type cmd

From the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Paste this into Command Prompt and press Enter:

icacls "C:\Windows\System32" /reset /t /c /l

Wait fro that command to complete, then close Command Prompt . . .

 

Windows 11: You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission. Would you like to save in documents folder instead?

It is not recommended to modify files in System32 folder, suggested to create a restore point before doing the same

Kindly Follow below steps to take permission to System32 folder and try again

Type “command prompt” in search (no quotes).

Right-click Command Prompt from the list, then select Run as Administrator.

Once Command Prompt is up, paste the following commands one by one followed by hit enter

takeown /f C:\Windows\System32 /r

icacls C:\Windows\System32 /grant administrators:F /t
