    Cannot enter text in search boxes on my taskbar and in my desktop folders


    I cannot enter text in search boxes on my taskbar and in my desktop folders after the 20H2 update.


    I am using Windows 10 Home Single Language.


    Can anyone help please ?

    Firefox Search Box Text

    In previous versions of Firefox, I was able to find the option to disable the browser from showing previously entered text into a search or text box. For example, the User Name box on this forum, I type "O" and OrbitzXT pops up. Other text in other search boxes has been popping up as well. I am using Firefox 3.6, I've tried clearing histories and such and it still remembers text in the boxes. Any ideas how to disable this? I don't see any such option in Tools -> Options.

    Search box on taskbar missing.

    Hi John,

    This issue with search box may happen if it's hidden from the taskbar.

    To resolve the issue, follow the steps below:

    • Right-click on the taskbar and select Search.
    • Select Show search box.

    Feel free to post back if you have other concerns.

    Thank you for posting your response in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your concern about search box in Windows 10.

    Please try the below and check if you can see search bar on taskbar:

    Steps:

    • Right click on Taskbar, move the mouse cursor on to
      Search       option.
    • Select Show Search icon (You will see Search icon beside Start)
    • Select Show search bar (You will see Search bar beside Start)

    Check with the above and let us know if it helps, we will be happy to help you.
