Windows 10: Cannot fetch BitLocker recovery Key from M365 device management console

If i enter M365 console to verify my bit locker recovery key against my hostname , i am getting the below shared error.

Bitlocker recovery key missing

I have a laptop that is booting up asking for the recovery key. When I log into my Microsoft account on another device it does list this computer in the devices, but when I select to manage bitlocker recovery keys, this computer is not listed? Where can I get the recovery key?
