Windows 10: cannot format or write to DVD RW Drive on Windows 11

The Format option is missing from the right-click menu. Disks won't open, instead I get an error saying they need to be formatted first. After formatting the disk in another computer also using Windows 11 but it worked there I can open to see the disk is empty but cannot write anything to it.

In order for us to properly address your issue with formatting a DVD-R/RW disc, we'd like to ask a few questions.

• Are you getting any error messages when formatting a DVD-R/RW disc?If yes, what is the exact error message?
  
• Have you tried formatting a DVD-R/RW disc to other DVD-R/RW drive?
• Have you tried inserting other disc like DVD movies or mp3 disc to check if the DVD-R/RW drive is working?

I would like to inform that only a Rewritable DVD can be formatted. To format a DVD/RW, follow the steps below:

• Insert the DVD/RW in the DVD drive.
• Open This PC (Windows key + E).
• Right click on the DVD drive and select Format.

Dvd drive cannot write to cd-rw ?

I have a pocket cd-rw which i want to write some files to, and i made windows format it as " use like a flash drive " . However, when i write multiple files at once, it says " This drive is cd-rom drive which cant write to a cd-rw " however it successfully writes some files. It is a dvd+/-RW drive, so it should be able to write to cds. I only have this problem on my mini cd-rw, as my regular cd-r can be written to. I do not have a full size cd-rw to test, however i think that should work. I've erased the disc, reformatted, and done everything.
