    hotmail focused

    I had this same problem. Trying to change this in settings didn't work as the message would come up saying I had Focused, I acknowledged the message and my page would freeze. I was able to get around this by opening my Hotmail account in Google Chrome, previously
    I was using Internet Explorer. Using Google Chrome, I didn't get the message about Focused and I was able to go into Settings (gear symbol), Display Settings and click that I did not want Focused - Don't sort inbox- down towards the bottom of the list of options.
    Hope this is helpful.

    I agree, we should have been told about it and given the option to opt in or out - not just had it automatically as the default - unprofessional.

    The two-step verification emails show up in my inbox but I added a rule to mark the domain name safe a long time ago (verified that "techpowerup.com" is still in the safe sender list).
