Windows 10: CANNOT GET GROOVE OFF MY WIN 10 SYSTEM

Windows 10 Pro v1803 Dell XPS8900 newly reset to factory with no Windows updatesI hate Groove Music. No option to uninstall because ... Microsoft. Despite changing as many default program and file associations as possible, plus trying to nuke it via Powershell, Groove keeps launching in certain situations. I have reinstalled Windows on this machine many times and never had this issue in the past. Didn't even know that Groove Music and Groove Video existed until a few days ago.No error messages rcvd in Powershell after running the following: get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* remove-a

Since the issue persist, please check the troubleshooting steps on how to reset Groove player:

• Type Settings to your Cortana.
• Go to Apps.
• Look for Groove.
• Click Reset.

Duplicates in Groove Music

I suggest you to run the App troubleshooter and check if that helps:

I would also suggest you to turn off and on the media info of Groove music and check. here is the steps:

• Open Groove Music.
• Click on Gear icon (settings) present on the left side of the app.
• Turn Off the media info and then turn it on.

Groove can't find music in Windows 10

Thank you for posting your response. I understand your concern, we in Community will try to help you in the best possible way we can.

I would suggest that you Reset Groove and check if the issue persist. Follow the steps below to Reset Groove.

• On the search bar, type “Powershell” right click on it and select RUN as Administrator.
• Copy and paste the command stated here without the brackets (get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* | remove-appxpackage)
• This will remove Groove from your system, you can install the app again from Store. But it will required to close Windows Store (if opened), to install Groove again.
