Windows 10: Cannot get windows 10 to recognize xbox one controller

I've tried different USB ports both 3.0 and 2.0, gone to every forum imaginable. Nothing works. Even tried the suggestions made by you guys in this post: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...xbox-one/d781d9f4-0a06-4413-afd5-b02be725b0ea. By restarting my computer on clean boot, but it still doesn't get recognized and does not show up in device manager.


My problem is that when I plug by Xbox One controller into my computer, it rumbles, and that's it. It is not detected by the xbox accessories app and it is not detected by any games. It does not show up in device manager or anywhere else. It's like it's not plugged in at all. Holding the middle button on the controller causes it to blink for a little bit before it shuts down.

There are several reasons why your Xbox One controller is detected as an Xbox 360 controller by your PC. It is possible that the controller is not updated or if you previously used an Xbox 360 controller on the PC, it is still detecting its drivers instead
of the Xbox One controller drivers. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

• Have you used an Xbox 360 controller on the same computer before?
• Does the error message occur on all of the games that you play?
• Have you tried to update the controller?
• Are you using an Xbox One Elite controller?
