    Cannot get windows defender at startup or in systems tray

    Windows Defender has disappeared from my hidden app tray. I also went thru all the steps to get it back at startup. The strangest thing is everything is greyed out when I go to services.msc to get it running at Startup. It is not listed in task manager either. What do I do if everything is greyed out in services.msc?

    :)

  2. WINDOWS DEFENDER IN SYSTEM TRAY

    Hi Peggybiebl,

    Hope this will address your query.

    Follow the below mentioned steps:

    * Click Start,

    * Type Windows Defender into the search space and select the
    Window Defender
    from the list to launch the same.

    * Keep Windows Defender open on desktop.

    * Now Right-click on System-Tray(I.e. On time/date) and select
    Customize notification icons from context menu

    * On right Select which icons appear on the taskbar under
    Quick actions
    .

    * Then search and toggle the Windows Defender to On

    Going forward you can see the Windows Defender in the system tray.

    Hope this will address your query.

  3. WINDOWS DEFENDER IN SYSTEM TRAY

    Yes, I have done that part already. However, it will only show the Defender in the system tray after I actually go to the Defender & click on it. It does not show the Defender in the system when I start up my computer right away, as the Windows Essentials
    did in Windows 7. I did not have to actually click on that to have it show in the system tray & show that it was on & working. With Defender it seems I still have to manually click on it for it to show in the system tray.

  4. Cannot get windows defender at startup or in systems tray

    WINDOWS DEFENDER IN SYSTEM TRAY

    Okay, Okay, I know how to put a folder on the desktop, this does not help. What I want is for the Windows Defender in Windows 10 to show in the System Tray when I start up my computer, just as the Security Essentials did when I
    had Windows 7. This way I know all the time, if my Defender is doing it's job, not just when I go through all the steps to get to it from the Start Menu. I know I can add it to the Start Menu boxes in the Task View but I want it in the SYSTEM TRAY as well.
    PLEASE can somebody finally answer how to do this, if it can be done & if it can't, then, CHEEZ just SAY so, instead of all this roundabout other stuff that doesn't help. THANK YOU!
