Windows 10: Cannot get windows updates to run/connect for windows 10

Hi. I'm having problems trying to run my check for "Windows Updates". Its been going on for a few months now. I keep getting this message each time I've tried Many, many times "We couldn't connect to the update service. We'll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn't work, make sure you're connected to the Internet."I've run the windows update trouble shooter, carried out the troubleshoot but it just runs until its finished and says no errors detected/found.Can someone help me at all please but please, I am not IT minded so please try to keep it simple preyingOS is Windows

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
