Windows 10: Cannot hear input audio in speaker or headset

HelloI have connected 2 different audio input devices in turn both by USB cable and 3.5 jack line in.In the sound settings windows tab I have correctly selected the input device and I can see the volume bar indicator showing it is receiving the audioas it moves up and down according to the input audio change . However I cannot hear any of it both on my headset or speaker ports which work fine if I am reproducing music or video from the PC directly.If I run a test on the input device test window, no error is found.It seems the "input" is not linked to the output.I am running Windows 11 wit

'normally' , for that sort of thing , IF it shows up as an audio device under 'playback devices', you make your game speakers the 'default' device and your headset the 'default communications device'.

Depends if the chat headset shows up in the list though.

 

Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

 

Cannot hear through Bluetooth wireless headphones but speakers okay


Just installed Sennheiser MB Pro 2 UC Bluetooth wireless headset and cannot hear sounds but can hear via desktop speakers (Bose).
The Volume Mixer for Device shows:
Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Headset Earphone (2 – Sennheiser BTD 800 USB)

If choose Speaker, sounds are good (i.e. can hear them) but if choose Headset nothing !

The Headset is used for Dragon NaturallySpeaking and the microphone works fine.

Sennheiser messages (i.e. Power on and Talk Time) can be heard okay.
