Windows 10: Cannot hear sound via my wired earplugs

Hi,I bought a new laptop and all is working well except "sound via my earplugs". Sound from the laptop's speakers is working absolutely fine. John Jefferson Doyon was kind enough to solve this problem i could her sound via the earplugs after following his advice. You may see my communication with him in the thread here about 4 days ago. However, updates from the "My Dell" and Waves MAXX Audio applications broke things again. Since recurrence of the problem, i uninstalled the Waves MAXX Audio application because this did not come installed with the new laptop. Based on the suggestion f

upgraded to windows 10, no sound through headphones/earplugs

have upgraded to windows 10, no sound at all, updated the sound driver but getting no sound through earplugs/ headphones, please help

As per the description I understand that you are unable to hear the email notification sound.

I suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps:

  Go to Control Panel Items
  
• 
  Click on Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Sounds Tab.
  
• 
  Click on Desktop Mail Notification.
  
• 
  Click TEST.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  

And check if you are able to hear the email notification sound.

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set.
