Windows 10: Cannot install any apps from windows store

    Cannot install any apps from windows store


    I have tried all tips from web about this problem including changing my region and language to United states re-install the apps app re-installed the media packs etc
    I still get "Try again Later - something happened at our end" this must be the most annoying error message ever.
    After a year of running windows 10 I still cant install any apps . every day I get a little bit nearer using Linux it's only one or two programs that won't run on it that is stopping me.
    Please can some one help?

    Cannot install any apps from OVI store

    Everytime I try to download any application from the OVI store, it will download fine, then just fail to install.



    Underneath it states "installation error". You click on the application and then it states "Installation failed. Try again or contact customer care".



    I have also tried installing from sisx files the OVI software suite via my PC. This successfully transfers to the device but then comes up with an error message "for an unknown reason it was unable to install".



    I only really NEED one app and that is swype, I am going nuts without it.



    I have my application settings to allow all, even though this shouldnt matter as it is a signed nokia app.



    I have tried reinstalling the firmware, it downloaded a 222mb file through OVI software suite and successfully reinstalled and updated, but the errors with the apps remains the same. It almost seems like the device isnt giving permission to itself to install
    apps?!



    The only other thing i could think that may make a difference is that this is my 2nd phone, my original N8 bricked itself and they replaced it with this new one. I made the OVI account with the old phone - does this make a difference. Should i delete and
    make a new account on my number? Do i walk into a vodaphone sotre and ask them for help?(I am in australia).

    Thanks I have run the scannow command and it came back with no integrity violations.
    I did the DISM repair windows image test as well and came back with "No component store corruption detected"
    I am a bit worried about doing repair install ! I don't want to lose anything.should I do it?
    Would the Icon cache repair be worth doing?

    With a repair install you'll not lose anything (you keep your documents and settings and it will re-install the default Windows 10 apps) but I doubt it would help with the Store not working. Nor would rebuilding icon cache. You could try it of course.

    You could try repairing the store (*Start + R then type wsreset in the run box and press <enter>).

    What might be interesting is whether it is your account that is corrupted rather than Windows.

    Do you sign on using a Microsoft account (email address)?

    What happens if you make a new user on your PC? Can you install Store apps on that account?

    I tried changing my account from a local to an outlook account and this at first seemed to work as I didn't get the error and it started downloading.
    But it didn't last long it came back with error 0x80240438.
    I googled that and tried disabling IPV6 in the network and rebooting and got a different error - tried again and got error 0x80240438 again.
    I wonder if it's worth it?

  11. Hopefully in your case the upgrade due 2nd August might fix it as it seems something in the Store App has messed up

    Did you try making another user account?
     
  14. Look at User Access Control (UAC)
    Change it to a lower or higher leve
    Change it to the Default level

    Try the store now

    Look at the Firewall rules
    Select monitoring
    select firewall

    is Store in the list?

    no?
    select inbound rules in the left pane
    scroll down to Store
    Enable it.
    exit firewall

    try the store again

    +edit
    Store still not behaving?

    Paste this string into the File Explorer address filed
    Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall

    Select Restore Defaults in the left pane
    Press Restore Defaults button

    Try the Store again

    If nothing has helped, try the Network Troubleshooter
    Also in the left pane of Control Panel\System and Security\Windows Firewall-edit
