Windows 10: Cannot install apps from Microsoft Store on my hard drive (D:)

So I recently looked into installing some games from the Microsoft Store, and would like to install them on the same drive I install all of my games on. Unfortunately, I have run into some problems doing so. When I click install it asks me to select a drive that has enough space. When I select my hard drive, however, the install button no longer works. If I create space on another drive (for example, my C: drive) and select that drive as the installation drive the process works fine. I looked into this and found out that changing the default install location for new apps under the storage settings for windows might help, but if I select my hard drive it returns with error 0x80070005. I looked at folder permissions and everything seems fine, and it even creates a WindowsApps folder in the drive. Any advice would be appreciated.

How to run apps that are downloaded from Microsoft app store on multiple PCs without downloading multiple times.

 

Microsoft store won't let me install apps on my D:\ drive

I have already done this. You can't start downloading to the D:\ drive if you have not dont this step first.

To clarify, this step worked without any errors and my problem is when Microsoft Store tries to install the app.

I have no errors changing drive, no errors downloading, just when installing.

Apps won't install in Microsoft Store

We understand your concern as you are unable to install apps in Microsoft Store. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

• Do you have any non-Microsoft antivirus program installed?
  
• Does this issue occur for all apps from the store?
  
• What is the date and time on the PC and ensure it is correct?

Meanwhile, we would suggest you to perform these steps and after every step check if you are able to install the app.



Step 1: Reset the Windows Store Cache: Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the
Run dialog box, type wsreset.exe, and then select OK.



Note:
A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.



Step 2: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter: Select the
Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security
> Troubleshoot, and then from the list select Windows Store apps > Run the troubleshooter.

Step 4: If you have any non-Microsoft security/antivirus software installed, disable it temporarily and then try installing the game.



Step 5: If the issue persists, then we would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
