Windows 10: Cannot install driver for my Epson V550 Scanner

I am trying to re-install driver for my Epson V550 Scanner. I located the V550 driver in Epson website, but when I try to install, I get a popup from MSoft telling me I must get driver from MS Store! When I try to install MS recommended Scanner from Store, it will not download!!I am very frustrated with MS after working for 30 mins on this. Please help!

Hi everyone, I bought a new Dell Inspiron computer with Windows 10 and am trying to install my Epson Perfection V550 Photo Scanner. the computer does not recognize the device in control panel when trying to install a new devise. I downloaded the updated
Driver from the Epson site, but still no luck. Any advice?

 

Epson scanner V550 does not work in Windows 10

I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago, and realized my Epson scanner (Perfection V550) does not work anymore. I uninstalled all the V500 software, and then downloaded Epson scanner driver and other utility programs for Window 10 from the Epson site.
But it still does not work. It displays an error message saying the driver is not compatible. Are any fix for V550 available anywhere?

I had similar problem with Microtek ScanMaker 4800 after upgrade to Windows 10 64bit. Installation of the Epson (!) driver "Epson Standard Scanner Type 1" solved my problem.
