Windows 10: Cannot install Hyper-V, Error : 0x800f0831

Hello Everyone, I tried to install Hyper-V on my physical installation Windows Server 2016 Standard Edition, but I can't, and I received this error message: 0x800f0831. I have opened CBS file for more details, and I saw that informations in the pictures. I tried to follow instructions here Error 0x800f0831 when installing an update - Configuration Manager Microsoft Learn But they didn't solve my problem.Can somebody help me please ?

Hi Froydo, did you eventually find out the cause of this issue ? I have exactly the same problem on my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. More precisely, I can install all components under "Hyper-V", except "Hyper-V services" (installation ends up with the 0x800F0831 error code).

Hi ,

I'm trying to enable Hyper-V Management tools and Platform so the User can use Hyper-V manager but it failed with message " Windows couldn't complete the requested changes. Please reboot and try again. Error code 0x800F0831".

I've rebooted the pc and checked the BIOS and yes the Virtualization Technology (VTX) is enabled. FYI this is a HP Compaq Elite 8300 pc with 32GB RAM. I checked the logs , but I don't see anything related to HyperV errors there. And the user hasn't complained of any other pc issues. Can someone please help ? Many thanks in advanced.

I appreciate your effort on this. As per my research the error code 0x800f0831 is generated when .Net Framework 3.5 is not enabled on the computer. I suggest you to try enabling .Net Framework 3.5 on the computer. Follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl and click on
   OK.
   
3. Click on Turn Windows features on or off.
   
4. Now, select the check box for .Net Framework 3.5 and click on
   OK.
   
5. Restart the computer.
   

You can also check if Virtualization feature is enabled in BIOS or not, if it is not enabled, I suggest you to enable it.

Hyper-V on Windows Pro wont install and see if that helps.
