Windows 10: Cannot install VCRedist.x64.exe

    Cannot install VCRedist.x64.exe


    Hello, I am having an issue installing the latest version of Visual C++ X64 redistributable found at this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170 . Every time I click the .exe it gives me the loading circle as if its doing something and just stops and nothing ever pops up. I have used revo-uninstaller to uninstall both the X64 and X86 versions that were already on my computer. I have tried using the AIO solution I have seen on these forums. The Troubleshooter does not see it on my program list to uninstall/install and when I tried it wh

    install Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable(X64)-14.16.27024 failed

    Those installation packages tend to have in common at least one requirement for installation:

    • Windows 7 SP1 (with latest Windows Updates): Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate)

    The first line of the log file says:

    Service Pack 0), path: D:\Qt\vcredist\vcredist_msvc2017_x86.exe

    You should consider at least installing SP1.

    What is the difference between vc_redist.x64.exe and vcredist_x64.exe?

    Definitely doesn't say vcredist_arm64.exe? Visual Studio 2019 lists X86, x64 and arm64 for installation
