  1. Cannot Install W10 on Dell XPS W7 pro

I have been trying to install W10 on my Dell XPS W7Pro machine with no luck. It always fails during configuration and reverts back to the old settings. Through all of this I found out that, I have been unaware, that my machine has NEVER successfully updated with "important" security updates from MS. I checked the log for the first time ever and learned that every "important" update has failed since purchased in 2015. All optional updates have been successful.

I feel that whatever has been preventing the updates is the same problem preventing W10 from installing.

While the machine is a Dell it was purchased through Amazon from Speedy Mobile.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    :)

    Upgrading possible ? Dual boot (XP-32 / W7-64) to (XP-32 / W10-64)

    Hi everybody,

I have a dual boot PC with Windows XP (32 bits) and Windows 7 (64 bits), both installed on a 500 Go SSD.

I have a 500 Go HDD for My documents, other data and games. Having two drives on a PC didn't cause any problem for upgrading W7 on another PC
but there was no other OS.

My 2nd PC is declared to be W10 compatible.

The active partition is the one with XP. So the one with W7 is
    not active.

    My two questions :

    • Will the upgrade process be able to upgrade W7 even if it is not the active partition ?
    • Will XP and the dual boot persist ?
Any experience with dual boot and W10 upgrading ?

  3. Upgrade from w7 pro to w10 no internet

I had W7 Pro that worked excellent. Upgraded to W10 and had no internet (hardwired to router). Tried everything. Went back to W7 pro and no longer had internet (hardwired to router). Again tried all the suggested solutions. Received error messages

    1. does not have valid IP configuration

    2. connection failed with error 651

    Market Share - W7, W10 & XP Up

    According to NetMarketShare in December:
    • W7, W10 & XP all increased their share of the market
    • The W8 Series (W8 & W8.1) has a smaller market share than XP
