Windows 10: Cannot install Win10 or Win11 due to "A Media driver your computer needs is missing". How...

I'm attempting to install Win11 on my system from ISO on USB but keep getting stuck at this message. "A Media driver your computer needs is missing". I get it when trying Win10 too. I've tried different USBs and different USB slots, I've redownloaded the ISOs and checked their hashes.How do I find out which drivers Windows thinks are missing. Is there a log file or something? That message really should give more information IMHO.Alternately, is there a way to attempt to continue the install while ignoring missing drivers. I can then try to figure it out if the install succeeds.---Details:---My

In most cases, this issue is caused by a corrupted ISO file.

We suggest following the troubleshooting steps on this article.

Error: A media drivers your computer needs is missing while installing Windows

I understand that during installation of Windows, you receive an error “A media drivers your computer needs is missing.”



Ideally, in this scenario we need to install the storage drivers from the Motherboard manufacturer’s website and this should allow to install Windows. I would suggest you to download the
AMD RAID Preinstall Driver (Note) Win10 ver.1903 supported under SATA RAID/AHCI from

B450M DS3H, extract the drivers and put it in a thumb drive.



During installation, insert the thumb driver with drivers, click on Browse and navigate to the thumb drive. This should detect the required drivers and install them. Once done, you will be able to continue with the installation.

Athlon 200GE on Asrock A320M-HD - Driver is missing in Windows install

When trying to install Windows 10 using a USB pen drive, I get the following message:

I already tried many suggestion described on Microsoft forums and on SuperUser as well, here and here, like:

• use only USB 2.0 pen drives
  
• use only USB 2.0 ports
  
• cancel the error, return to the initial screen, change USB port of the pen drive and try again
  
• create the pen drive using different tools
  
• downloaded the ISO at least 4 times from Microsoft and re-created the pendrives, to ensure that it isn't corrupted
  
• copied all drivers from the motherboard to another pen drive and forced Windows Install to find them. But even after it finds them, browsing one by one (by hand), it doesn't continue and the error persist
  

Now I'm testing with another pen drive and I will post here the results.

Update about installing the SATA driver:

I have tried it again but, as the results from previous attempts, even installing all the drivers that come from the "SATA" driver, after it the error persist and I can't proceeed with the installation.





The error message is: No new device driver found. Verify that the installation media contains the correct drivers and click OK.
