Windows 10: Cannot install Windows 10 on an old Packard Bell AIO

Hi,


I have an old Packard Bell AIO which had a faulty hard drive. I've replaced it with a 256Gb SSD but I cannot get Windows 10 to install. I get the error; Recovery, your PC/device needs to be repaired. Error code 0xc0000001.


I have gone into the BIOS non-UEFI. There is no Secure boot to disable and the only Legacy options is for USB.


I have booted GParted and tried to pre-format the Hard Drive to see if that helped, but I'm getting the same error.


I have done extensive searching, but all I can find are instructions on how to fix 0xc0000001 when you cannot boot Windows, and all of the suggestions are tools that you can only use when Windows 10 has already been installed. I get this error as soon as I try to install it though, literally immediately. I do not get to the stage where a hard drive can be detected and it is even before any of the early loading screens.


Can anyone offer me any help?

EDIT: Sorry, I should have mentioned. I have also successfully ran memtest86 v4, due to it being non UEFI and no errors are showing.

Yeah my thoughts exactly! I haven't had a Packard Bell PC for over 10 years! I thought they went under for sure!

Garb, I wish you luck with that, maybe clockgen can help, or getting a refund and building his new PC part by part on his budget, even if you can't get the better components for OC-ing it would be better than the Packard Bell. *Toast :toast:
