Windows 10: Cannot Install Windows Update Error 0x80073701

I have a vm with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC ver.1809 and build 17763.107, and I have not been able to install any cumulative updates. The most recent version is '2024-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1809 for x64-based Systems KB5041578'. Every time I attempt to perform the update, it downloads the update, but the install halts at 3%. After few minutes, I get the error message 0x80073701. I have attempted every solution I could find to resolve the situation, including running the troubleshooter, the problems they found are: Your DNS server might be unavailable ---> Detecte

Repair install or Windows Update?

Running Window 11 Professional.

I've tried several times, but the latest Windows 11 update
(KB5014668) keeps failing with error 0x80073701.

A web site suggested I try clean booting. I tried it. It didn't help.

So I'm writing to ask if anyone has any suggestions to fix that
inability to update error 0x80073701 .

Hi, Thanks for the suggestions. I ran the troubleshooter and it said it couldn't find any problems. But then I noticed there was an arrow for details and got this:



I stopped here because I have no idea what the BITS Service is and wanted to find out before I started messing with it. I don't understand where I'm supposed to type "NETHELPMSG 2182" If you could explain and tell me how to proceed from here, would be much appreciated.

Also should note that for at least two years the first line on Windows Update Screen is in red and says "Some settings are managed by your organization". I am my organization. Here are the settings just in case they are now causing problems?
