    Lemme explain.

    My computer has recently started running into this issue where suddenly all open windows will lose almost all interactivity. I cannot click any options in the upper bar, so I cannot minimize, nor close, nor resize a window. In fact I cannot click any options within a window. No settings, no refresh, I can’t switch tabs in a browser, etc. Nothing.

    However it is not frozen. I CAN still scroll up and down when on a page and I can minimize or close windows from the task bar. However if I try to close a document from the task bar which is not yet saved, the program of course pops up and prompts me to save any progress before exiting. And of course the save button doesn’t work, so I cannot actually close it.

    So far the only solution I’ve found it restarting the laptop.

    I suspect it has something to do with the 3 finger swipe on the touch pad. Because this issue tends to happen when I’m using that feature a lot to snap windows left and right on the screen.

    Has anyone run into this problem and could you suggest any solutions? My google search has so far given no results. Many thanks.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .

    Wait, but have you done the whole step-by-step guide described in the OP? DDL/DTS isn't supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 either, unless if you do the steps listed there.
