Windows 10: Cannot load Windows 10 because of Display problem

Hi,
I was going to update to Windows 10, but it said that my display NVIDIA GeForce7050/NVIDIA nForce 620 would not support Windows 10. My computer is 5-6 years old (Windows 7 HP), what do I need to do to get Windows 10 to work. Are the new components that I need to buy worth installing. I only use the computer for home use and do not play games on it.

Screen completely blank after windows 10 installation

I down loaded the new Nvidia driver that is supposed to fix this problem, and I still get a black screen so there is simply no way to fix Windows 10 because there is NO display. I cannot understand why this is a problem

The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter.

This is for Dell Vostro 3700 upgraded to Windows 10

 

I haven't done it myself, but I have read that you can perform the upgrade manually:

Windows 10 - Upgrade Installation - Windows 10 Forums

(There's a bit too much information there. The easiest way might be to use the Media Creation Tool. My own preference would be to download the .iso and make a USB flash drive from that.)

For drivers, you probably can use the Windows 8 ones. 32 bit:

Drivers | GeForce

64 bit:

Drivers | GeForce

You may need to install them in compatibility mode.

If that doesn't work, you may be able to install an inexpensive discrete graphics card. Example:

A couple of things, first:

Do you need Windows 10? I don't suggest it as an upgrade from Windows 7. I like it better from 8. (The integration of the Windows desktop and the interface once known as Metro is much better in 10 than in 8.)

If you wish to proceed with the 10 upgrade, I strongly recommend imaging the Windows 7 installation, in case something goes wrong. I haven't used it, but Macrium Reflect Free is popular for the purpose. This is particularly important if you have no means to re-install 7.
