Cannot log in or change the PIN due to the computer still on the old account that got migrated

My old account got migrated and ive created a new one with the same email address, but my computer still thinking i am using the old one. Today i tried log in my computer but it said “Your credentials could not be verified” and “Something went wrong and your PIN isn't available status: Oxc000006d, substatus 0x0”. When i tried Set up my PIN, the main problem appear that it still using the old account not the new one and somehow send verify code to the new one via email. After login it said something went wrong and i cant setup my PIN because the old account doesn’t exist anymore. Right now

    :)

  2. Change administrator and log in of Windows 10 computer

I realise that similar questions have been asked before but I have been a little uncertain of following advice in other threads.

We have a single Windows10 computer that belongs to our not-for-profit organisation. It is used principally by the treasurer and contains some software that we use regularly but will be impossible to reinstall.

At present the sole log in to the computer is by way of the previous treasurer's Microsoft account using a pin.

He has since (understandably) changed his password but the pin log in still works.

It would be better if the log in was changed to the Microsoft account of the new treasurer (and the account of the old treasurer deleted).I therefore have three questions:

    1. If we create a new Microsoft account (for the new treasurer) and create a new administrator user associated with that account, will that new user have access to all software and data presently on the computer?;
    2. What steps do we take to create the new administration user (with a new Microsoft account)?; and
    3. What steps do we take to remove the old administration user from the account without losing access to existing software or data?
I hope this is set out sufficiently clearly.

    Paul

P.S. If necessary we do have access to the previous treasurer to utilise his (new) password at any point it may be required.

  3. Can't log in to windows after a BIOS update, due to phonenumber change and PIN reset

    Hi,

    This is what happened:

    • My HP Omen 15 did a BIOS update (through windows updater).
    • After the BIOS update I had to reset my password.

(it gave me the following message: Your PIN is no longer available due to a change to the security settings on this device. Click to set up your PIN again)
    • In order to reset my password I had to log in to my Microsoft account
    • After logging in it needs to send me a code via SMS
    So far so good...

    • Turns out the phone number I have set up was my old one
    • I changed the old phonenumber to send the code to
    • Now I have to wait a month for Microsoft to process the change in phonenumber
    • Because I have to wait a month for them to process the change in phonenumber, I now can't re-setup my PIN, which means I can't use my laptop for a month
Is there any way to speed up the process of changing my phonenumber?
I have a second email setup, is there a way to send the code there instead of to my phone?

    Kind regards,

    Florian

  4. Cannot log in or change the PIN due to the computer still on the old account that got migrated

Can't change password to log in windows or add pin

    Hi Mathieu,

If you can add a PIN code after creating a new account, we suggest that you move your personal data and files to the new account. Your account specific files such as downloads and picture should be accessible on the new account in the Users folder. Make sure
to set your new account as an Administrator to retain your computer privileges.

However, before migrating to a new account, we recommend that you try clearing the PIN data on your original account and check if you will be able to set a new PIN code. Here's how:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC
    • In NGC folder, delete all the files. To do so you must be logged as Administrator.
    • Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options. Click Add a PIN and add a new PIN code for your account.

We would appreciate it if you could get back to us and give us an update with the result.
